Listen: Be the Change 2008-06-18

We often say that “Our children are our future,” but do we act as if this is so? Given that we live in a time of unprecedented global, political, social, and personal challenge, what are we teaching our children to help them live well? Discussion includes children with special needs and awareness of teaching our values by our example.

No Child Left Inside is a movement to give kids the time-honored opportunity to enjoy nature. Enjoying nature reduces children’s loneliness, depression, and attention problems. Nature teaches without effort lessons of life and death, beauty, and appreciation.

A listener advocates teaching local sustainability and supporting CSAs. Community Supported Agriculture farms allow families to buy into a share of the produce before the farm season. Most CSAs are completely organic, all are local. Find a CSA farm near you.
