Storyteller, author, wilderness expert & naturalist James Bruchac shares his love of the outdoors and his connection to nature with all of us. Jim is a master tracker who combines Native American philosophies, legends and observation skills with recent scientific techniques. He is the director of the Ndakinna Education Center in Greenfield Center NY which offers people of all ages unique hands-on learning experiences through creative presentations and field work.

Maraleen Manos-Jones is The Butterfly Lady. She started raising and releasing monarch butterflies in the 1970s, which inspired a trip to Mexico to search for their hibernation grounds. She has been studying and advocating for butterflies ever since, including her work with Forests for Monarchs, an organization that has planted over 5 million trees in the region where monarch butterflies spend the winter months. Tune in for stories, myths and information about these beautiful, inspiring, and necessary creatures.

Chris Bowser, Science Education Specialist with the NYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program and National Estuarine Research Reserve. The Estuary Program and Research Reserve protects and improves the natural and scenic Hudson River watershed for all its residents. Chris directs several citizen-science projects, including A Day in the Life of the Hudson River and research on the American Eel. He’s joined by student volunteers Saumya and Alix.
